PoulsMSC began with a straightforward idea: make science accessible without dumbing it down.
We’re named after the Poulsbo Marine Science Center, a community gem on Washington State’s Kitsap Peninsula that introduced thousands of visitors to the wonders beneath Puget Sound. This site carries forward that same spirit of curiosity and education.
What We Do
We publish research-backed articles on three core subjects:
- Marine biology and ocean science: from nearshore ecosystems in the Pacific Northwest to global oceanographic patterns
- Environmental conservation: practical guidance alongside policy-level analysis of the challenges facing ecosystems worldwide
- Scientific discovery: breakthroughs in ecology, climate science, and environmental technology that shape how we understand the natural world
Every article is written with sourcing in mind. Where we cite a statistic, we link to the study. Where we describe an ecological process, we draw from peer-reviewed literature and data from agencies like NOAA, NASA, and the EPA.
About the Editor
David Harmon is a science writer and environmental communicator based in the Pacific Northwest. With a background in marine ecology and over a decade of experience translating complex research for general audiences, David founded PoulsMSC to bridge the gap between laboratory findings and everyday understanding.
Editorial Standards
We do not accept sponsored content. We do not run advertising. Our only agenda is accuracy.
If you spot an error, a broken link, or a claim that needs stronger sourcing, please let us know through our contact page. Getting it right matters more than getting it first.
